Owen Makes His Prediction As United Face Sevilla In The Europa League Semi Final

Ex-Manchester United striker Michael Owen is predicting that his former club will just edge out Sevilla when they face off against the La Liga side in the Europa League tomorrow night.

The BT Sport pundit says he is expecting a tight encounter, with both teams having looked strong defensively, but he thinks the Red Devils’ will have the extra firepower to progress to the final:

“Sevilla have now kept a clean sheet in their last three games and I don’t see many goals in this one. That said, I think United’s superior firepower might just be the difference between the sides and I’m going for a 1-0 win for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s men.”

United have not looked at their best since arriving in Germany and if they were at the top of their game, you would expect them to come out convincing winners in this semi-final clash.

Owen’s prediction, therefore, looks to be bang on the money, but you wouldn’t be surprised if this knockout tie went to extra-time or even penalties at the RheinEnergie Stadion.

If they do progress, the United will face either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk with the final scheduled to take place on Friday.
