Not satisfied with signing Alexis Sanchez, Ashley Young and Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United, Inter Milan are now weighing up a bid for Chris Smalling, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Nerazzurri are believed to have been priced out of a move for Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic so they have turned their attentions to the United centre-half instead.
Smalling is coming off a successful season on loan at Roma and, with his stock high in Italy, the Red Devils could well get a decent fee for the player this summer. Fans on Twitter are hoping that Inter make a formal bid:

Currently, United have seven centre-backs on the club’s books, if you include Marcos Rojo who has not been able to finalise a permanent return to Argentina.
Along with Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones, it means Smalling would have a tough task getting back into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans anyway, so a departure in the coming weeks looks to be likely.
