Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka had one of the most difficult nights of his career during the Red Devils’ disappointing 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig yesterday evening.
The 23-year-old could not cope with Angelino, with the wingback scoring the first goal before providing the assist with a cross for the second. He failed to deal with the Manchester City loanee and fans on Twitter gave the player both barrels after the match:
Not good enough on and off the ball

So so overrated

Worst fullback in the game ever. Always fights the ball whenever he’s around it. Get rid

Destroyed by Angelino

He's not good enough to take us to the top

Not united level, good RB but not good for the future. I think he lacks the football IQ and his positioning is league one level

not a good defender at all, cant defend other than slide tackling which isn’t really defending and cant attack, he’s a liability really

Too one dimensional, shipped out the wrong full back

Not good enough to be at the level of a big club!

Wan-Bissaka was widely heralded as the best defensive-minded right-back in the country when he was snapped up from Crystal Palace for £50m 18 months ago but his defensive qualities certainly weren’t on show last night.
Even if you acknowledge the player’s limitations in the attacking third, you at least expect a good performance from him defensively but that wasn’t the case yesterday. His inconsistent performances have pretty much mirrored United’s during his time at Old Trafford; excellent one week and poor the next.
