‘Not Been Good Enough’ Manchester United Legend Calls Out Manager Erik Ten Hag

Legendary Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has made his feelings known on the tenure of current boss Erik Ten Hag – and he had some unfavourable comparisons to broadcast [via King Casino Bonus].

While Ten Hag’s time at the helm has been generally well-received, Yorke is not convinced. He cited Ten Hag’s win/loss record, stating that former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a better run in his first season at the club.

In the interview, Yorke said: “Erik ten Hag losing nine games in the Premier League does raise some issues. If you are a Manchester United manager, you will always be scrutinised for little details or mistakes.

“There’s nowhere to hide. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a better record than Ten Hag in his full two seasons managing the club, people talk about the progress we’ve made and the better style of football being played.

“Manchester United have reached the FA Cup final, won the Carabao Cup and made it far in the Europa League so that is progress, but Ten Hag losing more Premier League games than Solskjaer in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons has to be called out.

“The results have not been good enough this season, Manchester United are looking over their shoulder and are desperately trying to hold onto fourth place, I’m not sure that’s where the club wants to be.”

Currently, Manchester United sit fourth in the Premier League table. Over the course of their 34 league games, they have won 19, drawn six and lost nine.

Dwight Yorke played for Manchester United between the years of 1998 and 2002, where he formed a formidable partnership with Andy Cole. In total, Yorke scored 48 league goals in 96 games for the Red Devils.
