Chelsea have ended their interest in Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, according to multiple reports in the UK.
Manager Thomas Tuchel has told the Blues board that he is happy with his current crop of attackers after securing the signature of Raheem Sterling.
With the options for Ronaldo narrowing, fans on Twitter have been discussing the 37-year-old’s future and whether he could end up staying at Old Trafford after all:
Nobody wants him lol. He tried force a move away, didn’t turn up for pre season but certain united fans will welcome him back.

Power in ETH hands even more now if Ronaldo stays… he can’t demand to play every game after this. It’s playing out nicely…

What a mess he gave it the big one publicly and no one wants him. He’s burnt his bridges we should tell he can leave for nothing or play in the reserves all year.

Awaiting the “Don’t believe what you read in the papers, I’ve never wanted to leave” PR next week 🙄

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also been touted as potential destinations but, like Chelsea, neither club are prepared to make a move for Ronaldo.
In terms of other possibilities, there have been some claims that the Portuguese international has been offered a lucrative deal in Saudi Arabia but it is not believed that the forward is open to such a transfer.
At the moment, it appears that Ronaldo may have to make a U-turn on his future. Manager Erik ten Hag has repeatedly said that the player is part of his plans so there is room for him to be brought back into the fold.
