Mourinho Reveals Three United Players Who Will Start Against Liverpool

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Ashley Young, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard will all start against Liverpool at the weekend.

All three came on as second half substitutes as a much changed United side lost 2-1 to Valencia at the Mestalla yesterday evening.

Asked after the match whether the trio would be returning to the starting line up at Anfield, Mourinho nodded and said:

“You have only to find eight more.”

Rashford scored three minutes from time after replacing Fred midway through the second half. The goal proved only to be a consolation though as a first-half effort from Carlos Soler and an own goal from Phil Jones were enough for the home side to get the three points.

Rashford and Lingard’s selection in the first eleven means there is only one place up for grabs in the front three. After a poor game against Valencia, Romelu Lukaku may have to be satisfied with a place on the bench against Liverpool,  but with Anthony Martial in a battle to be fit for the match, the Belgian may still keep his place.
