Michael Owen Predicts The Result As United Take On Leeds

Ex-Manchester United striker Michael Owen is expecting his former club to come out on top when they face Leeds in the Pennines derby on Sunday.

The Whites have been in impressive form recently after beating Manchester City and drawing against Liverpool, but Owen believes the Red Devils’ excellent away form will be a factor in securing them the three points:

“The Red Devils have mastered the art of winning away from home, and if Leeds have a go here, I think United will pick them off. It’s 2-1 to Manchester United for me.”

Owen’s prediction is a pretty fair one. Marcelo Bielsa’s team make it very hard for their opponents and it would be a surprise if United were able to win this at a canter, like they did in the reverse fixture back in December.

There will undoubtedly be goals, especially as the home side throw men forward and leave gaps at the back. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are experts at exploiting vulnerabilities on the counter-attack, so this could be pretty end to end.

A narrow win, as Owen mentions, is the most likely outcome and such a result will be a confidence boost heading into the Europa League semi-final next week.
