Michael Owen Predicts The Result As United Take On Arsenal

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen expects Manchester United to come away with a narrow win when they face Arsenal at the Emirates tomorrow.

The Red Devils go into the match off the back of a shock home defeat to Sheffield United but Owen thinks Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will pick off their opponents on the counter-attack:

“This is a fixture that always fills the column inches and that’ll be no different ahead of this weekend’s clash. Arsenal have turned the corner after being so poor before the turn of the year and United could do no wrong until their huge slip up at home to Sheffield United.”

“That said, it is away from Old Trafford where I have been most impressed with Manchester United. If they can employ similar tactics as they did home and away against Liverpool, I think they could nick this on the break. Marcus Rashford is so hard to pick up when United are on the counter-attack, and if he’s in the same form as he was in the FA Cup against Liverpool, I can see him getting on the scoresheet.”

Owen has gone with a 2-1 win to United, which is a pretty optimistic scoreline, considering United are likely still reeling from the defeat they suffered against the Blades on Wednesday night.

With the Gunners coming into the game off the back of a good win over Southampton, this will be a tricky game, although Owen is right to pinpoint United’s excellent away record.

The Manchester club’s superb form on the road does balance things out, and this will be a tightly contested affair, with one goal likely to prove pivotal in deciding the result.
