Manchester United Injury News & Return Dates: Updates On Luke Shaw, Mason Mount And 8 Other Players

Luke Shaw and Sofyan Amrabat both missed Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

The two players are said to have suffered minor issues so they are not expected to spend too long on the sidelines. Anthony Martial (illness) and Amad Diallo (knee) are also nearing a return to full fitness and could be named in a matchday squad very soon.

Potential Return Date – 30th Dec v Nottingham Forest

Mason Mount has been pictured back out on the training pitch following a calf injury. However, it is believed that he will not be back available until the beginning of January.

Victor Lindelof could return around the same time, having had minor surgery to fix a small groin problem. Harry Maguire (groin) is also close to making his comeback. The defender has not played since the 1-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich a couple of weeks ago.

Potential Return Date – 8th Jan v Wigan Athletic (FA Cup)

Manager Erik ten Hag says that Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro are set to be back in contention in the middle of January.

Martinez had to have surgery to fix a foot injury, which had plagued him since the end of last season. Casemiro, meanwhile, has not played since October due to a hamstring issue.

Potential Return Date – 14th Jan v Tottenham

Tyrell Malacia has had a number of setbacks in his recovery from knee surgery. The Dutch defender underwent the operation early in the summer but he has now missed the first half of the season.

There is no indication as to when the fullback will return to training or when he could play for the first team again.
