Latest Manchester United Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On Mason Mount, Luke Shaw And 4 Others

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is close to making his return from a calf injury.

The summer signing has not been seen in action since November when he picked up the problem during the 1-0 home win over Luton Town.

Mount has been pictured back in light training over the past few weeks but manager Erik ten Hag has played down expectations about a potential comeback up until now.

However, there is now optimism that he will be available for selection in the very near future.

Expected Return Date – Wednesday 28th February v Nottingham Forest (FA Cup)

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has not played since starting the 2-2 draw against Tottenham at the back end of last month.

It was initially thought that the fullback would be back in contention to play last weekend.

However, before the 2-1 victory over Luton, ten Hag revealed that Wan-Bissaka had sustained another injury in training.

The 26-year-old is set to be out for at least three to four weeks.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 16th March v Sheffield United

Lisandro Martinez injured knee ligaments during the 3-0 win against West Ham at the start of February.

It was initially feared that the Argentinian international could be out for an extended period of time.

Although Martinez’s injury was not as bad as first feared, he is estimated to be sidelined for eight weeks.

It means that the defender could make his return at the beginning of April.

Expected Return Date – Wednesday 3rd April v Chelsea

Anthony Martial has not played for United since the start of December due to a groin issue.

United wanted to avoid surgery but it was eventually decided that he needed to go under the knife in late January.

Martial’s recovery period is said to be ten weeks so he is expected to return before the end of the season.

With his contract set to expire this summer, he will probably be able to play a few games before saying farewell.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 13th April v Bournemouth

Luke Shaw had to come off before half-time against Luton Town last Sunday.

Ten Hag says it remains to be seen how long this latest injury will keep the defender out for.

Fellow left-back Tyrell Malacia has completed his rehab but no date has been set for when he will return to first-team action.

The Dutchman has not played since last season after undergoing a knee operation in the summer.

Estimated Return Date – Unknown
