Latest Manchester United Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw And 6 Others

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has been training with Argentina ahead of his return from a knee injury.

The defender has not played since the beginning of February after being forced off in the second half of the 3-0 win over West Ham.

Second-choice keeper Altay Bayindir was not on the bench against Liverpool due to a muscular injury but he is expected to back after the international break.

Jonny Evans did not join up with his country Northern Ireland but, like Bayindir, he should be available for United’s next fixture.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 30th March v Brentford

Harry Maguire has withdrawn from the England squad due to injury. The 31-year-old played 67 minutes against Brazil at the weekend but it was confirmed after the match that he would not be available for the Three Lions’ second friendly versus Belgium on Tuesday.

Maguire is set to undergo a scan to ascertain the seriousness of the problem but, at the moment, he is not expected to be out for an extended period of time.

The centre-back has only recently returned from another injury, having been sidelined for the FA Cup tie versus Nottingham Forest, and the league fixtures against Manchester City, before making his comeback in the 4-3 win over Liverpool.

It remains to be seen whether this latest setback is a recurrence of an old issue.

Casemiro was not available for the win over Liverpool in the FA Cup due to a muscular injury. The Brazilian also had to withdraw from international duty.

United won’t want to rush his return but there is a feeling that he won’t be sidelined for a lengthy period.

Anthony Martial is undergoing rehabilitation after groin surgery. He underwent the operation in late January and he is estimated to be out for ten weeks.

Luke Shaw is said to be touch and go to return before the European Championships this summer.

The England international re-injured his leg in the 2-1 win against Luton Town in mid-February.

Tyrell Malacia has suffered a number of complications following knee surgery at the start of the season.

The left-back has been pictured back out on the training pitch but there has been no update as to when he will be ready to play for the first team again.
