Maguire And Wan Bissaka To Start, Lindelof On The Bench: United’s Predicted XI To Face City

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a number of fitness doubts heading into the derby with City. Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dan James are all in a race to be fit for Sunday’s game.

Solskjaer says he is hopeful that Maguire will be fit after injuring his ankle before the 3-0 win against Derby County in the FA Cup midweek, and hopefully, the Norwegian is just being cautious and not revealing too much ahead of the clash at Old Trafford.

In defence, then, Wan-Bissaka and Maguire could make their return, alongside Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw. Victor Lindelof could be dropped to make way for the club captain.

There are unlikely to be changes in midfield from the victory at Pride Park with Scott McTominay, Fred and Bruno Fernandes all keeping their places.

However, there are expected to be some adjustments in the forward line. Anthony Martial will likely be recalled in place of Jesse Lingard, while Mason Greenwood could start ahead of Juan Mata.
