“Listen…” Mason Mount Addresses Speculation That Chelsea Could Sign Wantaway United Star

Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount has refused to be drawn on reports linking Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo with a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

There has been some speculation in recent days that the Blues may consider making a move for Ronaldo, after previously deciding against signing the player. When asked by a Portuguese journalist about the prospect of the 37-year-old joining Chelsea, Mount replied:

“Listen, I’m away with international and England at the moment so that’s all I’m focusing on. I’ve just played my first World Cup game, I’m not really thinking about too much else. I’m away with England.”

At the moment, it doesn’t look as if Ronaldo has any club lined up if, as expected, his contract at United is terminated in the coming days and weeks.

The Portuguese international’s decision to criticise the club and manager Erik ten Hag during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan has effectively ended his chances of remaining in Manchester.

From the looks of things, though, Ronaldo could still stay in England, although there is no guarantee that Chelsea will make an approach for him at this stage.
