Manchester United are ready to put €94m (£79.3m) on the table for Ajax winger Antony, according to The Athletic journalist Laurie Whitwell.

Despite the likes of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford impressing against Liverpool last night, manager Erik ten Hag is keen to add more quality to the squad by bringing in the Brazilian international:

It’s a huge offer but it appears ten Hag is confident that Antony would improve his options up front. Following Casemiro’s arrival from Real Madrid, United have already spent the best part of £130m on four players.

However, it seems the Manchester club are willing to break the £200m barrier this summer in order to secure one of ten Hag’s key targets; a demonstration that they are willing to back their manager in the transfer market.

Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in Antony over the past few weeks but it’s very unlikely that the Blues would be willing to match United’s offer for the Brazilian.
