Latest Manchester United Injury Report: Updates On Maguire, Fred And Martial

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has described captain Harry Maguire’s chances of playing in the Europa League final as getting “slimmer.”

The 28-year-old has not featured since picking up an ankle ligament injury in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa earlier this month and it now appears he will miss Wednesday’s game in Poland.

There is also uncertainty surrounding the fitness of Fred. Solskjaer had said before the 2-1 victory against Wolves that the Brazilian should be “okay” to play a part in the match, but the midfielder was not in the matchday squad at Molineux.

After sustaining a knock in the 1-1 draw versus Fulham last week, Solskjaer said Fred “doesn’t look great when he’s walking” which suggests the 28-year-old is carrying a leg injury.

Anthony Martial is back in training but he was not ready to make his comeback yesterday, so he may not play much of a part against Villarreal. Phil Jones remains sidelined with a knee problem.
