Latest Manchester United Injury News: Updates On Maguire, Van De Beek, Greenwood And Martial

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is said to be touch and go to make it back in time for England’s first group match of the European Championships against Croatia on Sunday.

The 28-year-old sustained ankle ligament damage in the win over Aston Villa early last month but hasn’t been seen since then. He was, though, still selected by Gareth Southgate for the Euros despite the issue.

Donny van de Beek has had to pull out of the Netherlands’ squad due to a groin problem, with the Dutchman now focusing on rehabilitation ahead of a return for preseason. Mason Greenwood had already withdrawn from England duty with a similar issue.

Anthony Martial did not return as expected before the end of the campaign. The Frenchman had been seen in training after recovering from a knee injury he picked up in March, so he should be ready to make his comeback soon.

There are still doubts about Phil Jones’ fitness. The defender had an operation on a troublesome knee problem last summer but he spent the whole season sidelined. It remains to be seen when he will return to action.
