La Liga Giants Offer Player Plus Cash Deal As They Look To Trump United For £97m Rated Argentine Poacher

Barcelona have made the first move in the battle to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, according to FCInterNews.it. The Italian website claims that the La Liga champions have offered €70m (£61m) plus two players, Nelson Semedo and Arturo Vidal, as part of the deal.

Manchester United are also said to be keen on the Argentinian international, along with Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid, but Barca are the team who are reportedly the most advanced in negotiations.

Even though the Catalan club believe their offer is worth up to €130m (when including both Vidal and Semedo), it is said that the bid won’t be enough to convince Inter.

Martinez has a €111m (£97m) release clause which the Serie A side expect any club to match, and that means United are very much still in with a chance of signing the 22-year-old if they are willing to pay the buyout fee.
