Journalist Reveals United “Remain Confident” Of Keeping South American Starlet Despite Renewed Interest From Rivals

Manchester United “remain confident” that Alejandro Garnacho will stay at Old Trafford despite renewed interest from Real Madrid, according to the Manchester Evening News journalist Rich Fay.

The 18-year-old is contracted to the Red Devils until 2025 and, while the club are relaxed about his current situation, a new deal is believed to be in the works:

In addition to Real Madrid, the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with Garnacho over the past month.

There is definitely pressure on United to get a new contract sorted, especially after his exploits this season. The Argentine has made his first-team breakthrough under manager Erik ten Hag and his dramatic winner against Fulham just before the break for the World Cup has increased his profile.

Garnacho’s agents will likely use his recent form in negotiations to get a better deal for their client but the fact that the player is tied down for another two and a half years means United are in a comfortable position.
