Journalist Reveals 43M Rated Serie A Star Is “Open” To January Switch Amid United And Chelsea Links

Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries is “open” to leaving the Serie A club, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Writing in his column for GiveMeSport, Jones claims that the Dutch international could be poised to leave Italy as long as Inter don’t increase his asking price off the back of the World Cup.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been mentioned as potential suitors for Dumfries and he was originally valued at around €50m (£43m).

However, there have been suggestions that Inter may demand another €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons, which would take the total cost of the transfer up to €60m (£52m).

United boss Erik ten Hag is interested in recruiting a new right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka likely to leave Old Trafford in the New Year, but he is not expected to have a sizeable transfer budget available to him.

If the transfer fee needed to secure Dumfries’s signature increases any further, the 26-year-old could be priced out of a move to Manchester.
