Journalist Names Two Targets (Worth A Combined 214M) As He Reveals Details Of United’s Summer Transfer Plans

There is a “strong chance” that Manchester United will land a “high profile name” next summer as they look to strengthen their forward line, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The former Eurosport reporter has suggested that Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao are likely to be near the top of the list as United draw up their transfer plans:

“I think that there’s a strong chance that they do sign a high-profile name in the summer. Osimhen and Leao are going to cost a vast amount of money. The only thing I’d say is that whenever United have spent huge money, it’s tended to drag out a bit. That would be my one concern.”

Leao has a €150m (£128.5m) release clause, although Milan may have to offload the Portuguese international for a fee substantially below that figure, with the player’s contract set to expire in 2024.

There is, though, expected to be competition from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City for the winger’s signature.

In terms of Osimhen, United will have little to no chance of getting a discount. The Nigerian international is in excellent form and, with demands for his services also very high, he could cost in excess of €100m (£85.7m)
