Inter Confirm They Have Signed Romelu Lukaku From Manchester United

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United. The transfer was announced on the Italian club’s official Twitter account with the player posting a short video:

The Nerazzurri have reportedly paid €80m (£74m) for the Belgian international, who has left Old Trafford after two years at the club.

Lukaku scored 42 goals in 96 appearances for United, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could not guarantee him a first-team place ahead of the likes of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

A deal was originally in place for the 26-year-old to move to Juventus in a straight player swap with Paulo Dybala but United were unable to agree personal terms with the Argentinian, and the transfer collapsed.

It allowed Inter back into the race for Lukaku, and after many weeks of negotiations, the two sides finally agreed on a transfer fee. Whether a replacement will be signed before the transfer deadline, we shall see.
