“I’d Have Some Questions” Leboeuf Raises Doubts About United’s Chances Of Signing 60M Rated French World Cup Winner

Frank Leboeuf is not convinced that his fellow countryman, Raphael Varane, will be interested in moving from Real Madrid to Manchester United.

The Red Devils, along with Manchester City and Leboeuf’s former club Chelsea, are thought to be interested in signing the World Cup winner, but Leboeuf has his doubts over whether the 28-year-old would want the switch to Old Trafford:

“We know the history of Man United but we are talking about the past. They finished in second place in the league but I’m not sure it’s a goal for everyone to go to Manchester United now unless they have three or four new signings coming in as well so they can challenge Manchester City and Liverpool next season. I don’t know what Raphael Varane’s goal is but I’d have some questions before going to Manchester United.”

Reports in the Spanish media claim Varane does have offers on the table from United, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea. At the moment, it isn’t clear which club would be his preferred destination.

There have been a few journalists that have suggested he would favour a switch to PSG, but United are believed to have put the best contract proposal on the table.

The centre-back is expected to be sold by Real Madrid for around £60m this summer, unless he decides to extend his contract with the La Liga side, which is currently set to expire at the end of next season.
