Ian Wright Names Two “Exceptional” United Starlets He Is Excited To See More Of

BBC pundit Ian Wright has praised Manchester United for handing first-team debuts to young duo Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire over the past week.

The former Arsenal striker believes the Red Devils should be given massive credit for developing young players, and he can’t wait to see more of the two most recent debutants:

“When you look at Amad as well, we’re talking about somebody who has come across. He’s played in Serie A, played in the Under-23s and they’ve instantly, after a couple of games, they’ve brought him into the first-team squad. It’s the same with Shoretire.”

“We’re talking about exceptional players that Manchester United seem to be able to produce and get them to the first-team. It’s testament to Manchester United, a club of that size with the capabilities they’ve got and the money that they still are bringing through top young players. Credit to them.”

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed that Diallo and Shoretire are unlikely to feature from the start when they face Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

However, they will almost certainly play some part against Sociedad, with both expected to be given some minutes to impress off the bench, especially with United 4-0 up in the tie.

Out of the two, Diallo is probably closest to getting his first start but Wright is correct to highlight the pair as having great futures, who could go on to be regular starters in the not too distant future.
