“I Think He Would Thrive…” Ben Foster Urges 136M Rated Bundesliga Star To Snub PL Rivals For United Switch

Ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has urged Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham to snub advances from other Premier League teams in order to join Erik ten Hag’s side.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool are also said to be keen on securing the 19-year-old’s signature, along with Real Madrid, but Foster feels Bellingham would be better off at Old Trafford where he could be the “main man”:

“For me personally, I would love to see him go to Manchester United. I think he would thrive more at Manchester United, he’d have more responsibility and I think he would enjoy it there more. I think he would know he’s the main man. I worry that if he went to a club like Man City he might just sort of [end up] a little like Jack Grealish. He would just fade a little bit at Manchester City. So I would love him at Manchester United, I think he would smash it.”

At the moment, it is difficult to know where Bellingham will end up, considering the amount of interest being shown in the player. Dortmund are not going to let him leave without a fight either, with reports suggesting that the Bundesliga side could demand as much as €150m (£136m) for the England international.

While the transfer fee could be an issue, the main obstacle for United would probably centre around Champions League football. If the Red Devils don’t finish in the top four, Bellingham would probably be reluctant to make the move to Old Trafford, so a lot rides on ten Hag’s team having a successful season.
