“I Have Already Named Those Players” Rangnick Reveals He Has Recommended TWO Summer Signings

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that he has told the club to sign two players when the summer transfer window opens.

The German will take up an advisory position at the club when the season is over, but he says he has already made his feelings known about how the squad rebuild should begin:

“There might be a couple of players – and I have already named those players to the board – that independent from formation, from style of football, and independent from a new manager, that could be of interest for a club like United.”

It’s very likely that one of those two recommendations is RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman has been confirmed as a target by reliable sources in recent weeks.

The Red Devils won’t be the only Premier League team pursuing the 24-year-old’s signature, though, with Manchester City and Arsenal having also been mentioned as potential suitors.

In terms of the other potential signing, it is far less clear-cut. Journalist David Ornstein has revealed that United are tracking Benfica’s Darwin Nunez so that could be someone that Rangnick also likes.

However, considering his Red Bull connections, there is a chance it could be yet another Leipzig player, Konrad Laimer. He was linked with United at the start of the month and he is a holding midfielder; a position in the squad that needs to be strengthened.
