How Manchester United Could Line Up Next Season

Manchester United have made three new additions to their squad this summer, with one or two perhaps set to follow suit. Victor Lindelof has been joined at Old Trafford by Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic, but there are plenty of suggestions that Ivan Perisic and Serge Aurier could be on their way to the Theatre of Dreams.

As United prepare to mount a serious title challenge next season, the squad looks as bolstered as ever, and there are still plenty of youthful players that will hope to break into the side next season. Mourinho will hope to build on his Europa and League cup success from last season and potentially go on a run in the Champion’s League.

One thing is for sure, United’s best league position since Sir Alex Ferguson retired has been 4th, this sort of league finish next season will surely not go down well with anyone related to the club – its time for United to push for the top again, do they possess the talent to do so?

United have spent hundreds of millions since Sir Alex’s departure, and it’s fair to say that they will probably continue to spend year in year out. But with the talent already at Jose’s disposal, how will the boss set up his team next season based on the current squad he has?

Below are two Manchester United XI’s, you could call them the Reds’ A and B team.

United’s A Team

De Gea

Valencia – Bailly – Lindelof – Shaw

Herrera – Pogba – Matic

Mkhitaryan – Lukaku – Rashford

United’s B Team

Romero

Darmian – Smalling – Jones – Rojo

Carrick – Fellaini – Blind

Mata – Martial – Lingard

When you consider these two line-ups, it is clear that Manchester United have some immense squad depth. Mourinho is definitely a lucky man, and without a doubt possesses the best United squad (on paper) in years.

Whether you agree or disagree with the way in which the two sides above are set out, it demonstrates how the club are moving forward and should definitely scale some sort of challenge for major silverware next season.

As well as having the seniority United have above, there is also an abundance of talent in the youth ranks. Below is what we believe to be Manchester United’s C Team. Of course, it is not necessarily a team that United would ever field – but it once again shows 11 more players that Mourinho has to choose from.

United’s C Team

Pereira

Fosu Mensah – Tuanzebe – Borthwick Jackson – Mitchell

Willock – Gomes – McTominay

Pereira – Wilson – Young

With the 33 players mentioned above, how would you like to see Manchester United line-up next season?
