“Hot On His Trail…” Report Reveals Chelsea Could Hijack United’s Move For The New Haaland

Manchester United may have to see off Chelsea if they want to land Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The English tabloid reports that the Blues are “hot on his trail”, having invited Atalanta’s president Antonio Percassi to a recent game to discuss a bid for the player.

Hojlund has already publicly expressed that he is a “huge” United fan which means that the Red Devils would have a key advantage in any negotiation to sign the forward.

However, the Danish international is attracting interest from plenty of teams. In addition to Chelsea, both Arsenal and Newcastle have been mentioned as possible suitors.

Atalanta are expected to hold out for as much as £60m for Hojlund, who has already been compared to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland by one of his former coaches. This story is likely to have plenty more twists and turns ahead of the next transfer window.
