“High On The List…” United Backed To Make Bid For Ex Chelsea Marksman

Manchester United should place Roma striker Tammy Abraham “high on the list” of targets as they look to strengthen their options upfront, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s impending departure means manager Erik ten Hag will be hoping to recruit a new forward as soon as possible and Jones claims Abraham would be the perfect fit:

“If there becomes a chance that he’s willing to leave Roma, then I think that he should be high on the list of names that United look at. He is somebody who obviously knows the Premier League well; he’s a goalscorer.”

After joining Roma from Chelsea at the start of last season, Abraham made a very good first impression, scoring 27 goals in all competitions as Jose Mourinho’s side won the Europa Conference League last campaign.

However, the 25-year-old’s form has dropped off a cliff since then, having bagged only four goals in 20 appearances so far this term.

You would have to think that Abraham is unlikely to make any shortlist of potential targets. Reports earlier this week claimed that the Red Devils are going to be pretty ambitious in terms of who they could pursue, with Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and even PSG’s Kylian Mbappe under consideration.
