‘HE’S COMINGGGGG’ ‘Get Him In. We Couldn’t Do Any Better’ United Fans Excited As La Liga Star Refuses To Rule Out 70M Transfer

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has left the door open to leaving the Wanda Metropolitano this summer.

The 28-year-old was linked with a £70m switch to Manchester United last week and asked about his future in a recent interview, the Slovenian refused to rule out a potential move:

“I can’t see the future, neither myself nor the club nor anyone can. It will depend on a lot of factors, such as if the club needs to sell any players or not. I have nothing to say about my future, I have been at Atleti [for] seven years and I have two years left on my contract. I have played more than 300 games here and, while I enjoy having won La Liga Santander, I’m not thinking about anything else. I’m here, I’m happy. We’ll see what the future brings.”

Whether that actually means Oblak is interested in moving to Old Trafford, that is up for debate, but that hasn’t stopped supporters on Twitter from getting excited about the shot-stopper making the switch to United:

The original report regarding United’s interest in Oblak suggested that David De Gea could be used as part of the deal so, for a transfer to take place, the Spaniard would have to be interested in a return to Atletico and the La Liga side would need to be open to it as well.

It does seem as though manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is actively looking for a new number one but we shall have to wait and see whether any formal approach is made for Oblak.
