‘Has Potential To Be Special’ ‘Least Awful Player Of The Month’ United Fans On Twitter React To Midfielder’s Double Award

There hasn’t been much to cheer about for Manchester United fans during the month of September but the form of Scott McTominay has been one of the highlights.

The 1-1 draw against Arsenal last Monday wasn’t blessed with a lot of quality, but the 22-year-old scored the opening goal and gave his all throughout the 90 minutes.

McTominay was awarded player of the month for September as well as goal of the month for his strike versus the Gunners, but supporters on Twitter believe the lack of other deserving candidates for the awards, is symptomatic of United’s poor form at the moment:

Despite the awful performances from the team, McTominay has been one of the shining lights. He gives 100% in every game and has looked the one player in midfield who is prepared to get the ball and make something happen.

The Scottish international is not shirking the responsibility considering the poor form the team is currently in, and he deserves credit for that.
