Manchester United have offered a five-year contract to Mason Greenwood, according to Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano. It is believed that the Red Devils will sit down with the 17-year-old’s agents very soon to conclude negotiations.
The striker scored his first senior goal for the club against Astana last week, and he is likely to become an important first-team player as the season wears on. Supporters on Twitter are happy about this latest development:

Not that im not over the moon at his commitment to the club but lessons need to be learned from the likes of Rashford, players need to EARN these contracts. Not sayin let potential stars leave but contracts should now be mainly incentivised with performance bonuses

Greenwood is reportedly only earning £800 a week at the moment, and reports earlier this month suggested that his weekly wage will increase to £25,000 a week.
His salary could go up further if he becomes a regular starter, and with both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial out injured, that may come sooner than expected.
Greenwood missed the 2-0 defeat to West Ham due to tonsilitis but he could return to the fray when United face Rochdale in the Carabao Cup tomorrow night.
