Manchester United are not interested in signing AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu on a free transfer, according to reports.
There had been rumours, originating in Germany, that the Red Devils were poised to sign the Turkish international on a pre-contract agreement ahead of a free transfer at the end of the season.
However, it seems those claims may turn out to be inaccurate and the majority of supporters on Twitter are happy that Calhanoglu is now unlikely to be moving to Old Trafford:
Good we don't need him

United only prefer sideways passing merchants in their center midfield.

Yeah good..although wouldn't be the worse thing if we signed him but reality is, don't need him ..need Pure quality starters atm not some bench warmers

The speculation around United’s interest in Calhanoglu always seemed to be a bit strange, to be honest. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already has a number of attacking midfielders in his squad and signing another would not make a lot of sense.
United have a more pressing need for a new holding midfielder, considering Nemanja Matic is now 32 years of age and will have to be replaced in the near future.
