Solskjaer Gives His Thoughts On United’s January Transfer Window Plans

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has yet to give much thought to the club’s plans for the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are currently ninth in the Premier League table but could be just two points off the top if they win their game in hand, and Solskjaer says his focus is currently on the matches leading up to the New Year:

“With our additions in the summer and last time in January, I don’t think it’s right for me to start commenting on the transfer window already. Let’s see where we are in January. I’ve got selection issues already!”

Solskjaer is likely playing it coy here. The Norwegian will know that certain improvements will need to be made to the first-team squad, considering they have already lost three of their opening nine games.

However, as he rightly points out, a lot can happen between now and January in terms of results, and he may not need to go into the market if the team is close to top spot.

There has been speculation that United are after another centre-back, considering they have conceded 16 goals in nine league games but, at this stage, Solskjaer is giving nothing away about his plans.
