Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw put in another man of the match performance as the Red Devils overcame a stubborn West Ham team last night.
The defender rampaged up and down the left flank for the full 90 minutes, offering a threat going forward whilst also being solid defensively, as United kept a clean sheet to seal a tight 1-0 win.
Shaw’s consistency this season has led many supporters on Twitter to praise him as the best left-back in the league, with some even claiming he ranks right up there with any in the world at the moment:
Man keep getting better every game , the best in the world

Honestly up there for best in Europe if you actually think about it. Davies has been very good still but had a few injuries, Theo Hernandez the same. Kostic is more of a Wing Back for Frankfurt, Robertson not been the same

I’ve been one of Shaw’s harshest critics over the years but when he plays well, he’s usually consistent (then gets injured and it goes to pop again)! Let’s hope his form continues ??

It does feel like the penny has finally dropped for Shaw this season. Combined with the fact that he has gone a long spell without picking up an injury, he is now able to put in consistently excellent performances.
The potential was always there but Shaw is finally showing why United paid £30m for him almost seven years ago.
