Marseille are expected to win the race for Lens fullback Jonathan Clauss, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
There have been reports that Manchester United were interested in the France international but Romano believes those claims were wide of the mark:
Jonathan Clauss will undergo medical tests as new OM player in the morning. Full agreement completed after the opening bid made 10 days ago, Lens have accepted €8m fee. ⚪️🔵🤝 #OM

Clauss has been on the radar of plenty of teams. In addition to United, Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old, who has less than a year left on his contract.
The €8m (£6.8m) that Marseille are paying for him would, therefore, appear to be a bargain, so it is slightly surprising that other clubs didn’t make a move for him as well.
United are believed to be in the market for a right-back. Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters is reportedly on the club’s shortlist but his £40m asking price may put them off from making a bid. The likes of Achraf Hakimi and Denzel Dumfries have also been mentioned but they could cost just as much.
