FIVE Starlets (All 23 Or Under) Who Can Be Signed By PL Clubs When Their Contracts Expire Next Summer

It can be an expensive business signing young players these days. Premier League clubs can shell out tens of millions knowing full well that they may not get a return on their investment.

Manchester United, for example, spent £37m on Amad Diallo, and the jury is very much still out on whether the Ivorian international will be able to fulfil his potential.

When starlets near the end of their contracts, though, they can be snapped up for a pittance, and in today’s list we will look at some potential bargains that Premier League teams could sign next summer.

Press the next page as we look at five players (who are 23 or younger) who could leave their clubs at the end of the season.

Ben Brereton-Diaz

The Chilean international has five goals in 12 appearances for Blackburn this season, building on his excellent form last campaign, which saw him score 22 in the Championship.

Brereton-Diaz has been heavily linked with the likes of Everton and West Ham in recent months, and the 23-year-old’s availability on a free transfer next year will likely lead to a scramble for his signature.

Giorgio Scalvini

The 18-year-old started for Atalanta at the weekend, as he helped keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Fiorentina. He is a highly-rated young player but his current deal expires in June.

Scalvini has made 26 senior appearances in total and he has already been given his first senior cap for Italy, making his debut in a 5-2 defeat to Germany earlier this year.

Youssoufa Moukoko

The 17-year-old holds the record for the youngest player to ever play in the Bundesliga but, despite being a very promising striker, Dortmund have not been able to tie him down to a new contract yet.

Moukoko has already made 48 senior appearances but he has started just seven matches and he may be seeking a move to become a regular starter.

Evan Ndicka

The centre-back helped Eintracht Frankfurt win the Europa League last season, and he has made over 150 appearances for the Bundesliga side over the past four years since arriving from Auxerre.

Ndicka has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United in the past, and the fact that he is left-footed does mean he could lend teams some balance with their options at the back.

Nicolas Jackson

The Villarreal forward has started six of the La Liga club’s seven league matches so far this campaign. He scored in the Yellow Submarine’s opening day win over Real Vallodolid and he hasn’t looked back since then.

However, Jackson has not put pen to paper on a new contract, and Premier League clubs will almost certainly be keeping a close eye on his performances.
