“Expected This Week…” Romano Makes Exciting Claim As United Line Up 79M Offer For South American Star

A new bid from Manchester United for Ajax winger Antony is “expected this week”, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that the Red Devils hae already agreed personal terms with the player, and it is now up to the two teams to find common ground on the transfer fee:

Reports have suggested that United may table an offer of around €94m (£79m) for Antony, which is a staggering figure for a player who only has two full seasons of experience in European football; both of which have come in the Eredivisie.

As Romano also mentions, it seems as if Ajax are targeting another United target, Hakim Ziyech, as the Brazilian’s replacement. The Moroccan worked under Erik ten Hag during his time in the Netherlands so it is somewhat surprising that the Chelsea forward hasn’t been seen as more of a priority for the Red Devils, considering he is likely to be available for a much lower price.

Ten Hag obviously feels that Antony has greater potential and United appear to be ready to back his judgement with a mammoth bid for the 22-year-old.
