Ralf Rangnick may not have his visa processed in time for Manchester United’s next game against Arsenal, according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein.

The reliable journalist believes that the German will be confirmed as interim coach in the “next 24 hours” but there is still “uncertainty” over when he will be able to take charge.

Rangnick’s work permit application is currently being worked through but, since Brexit, the approval process can take a number of days so there is a chance that he may only be on the bench when United take on Crystal Palace next weekend.

Following the 1-1 draw against Chelsea yesterday, centre-back Eric Bailly revealed that the club had confirmed Rangnick’s appointment to players in the dressing room.

There was even some speculation that Rangnick had a say in the team selection at Stamford Bridge but caretaker coach Michael Carrick was keen to refute those claims after the match.
