Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has said he won’t be selling Moussa Dembele no matter the price after scouts were spotted watching the 23-year-old in the French side’s 6-0 win over Angers at the weekend.
Both Manchester United and Juventus are said to be interested in the former France Under 21 international, but Aulas has delivered a warning to any team keen on recruiting the ex-Celtic striker in the near future:
“OL (Olympique Lyonnais) aren’t interested in offers for Moussa, who is the first symbol of OL’s new project! Neither Manchester [United] nor Juventus: a matter of principle, not price!”
Dembele scored twice in the win against Angers, while he also scored the opening goal for Lyon in their 3-0 win over Monaco last week.
United are likely looking at potential options to replace Romelu Lukaku who departed for Inter Milan in early August With the transfer window closed until January for English clubs, it could hand the advantage to Juventus who may make a move before the end of the month.
The Italian transfer window closes on September 2nd with the Serie A champions seeking a new number nine.
