Bryan Robson Makes Bold Prediction About Manchester United Ahead Of Chelsea Clash

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson says he is confident that his former club can beat Chelsea this weekend.

Erik ten Hag’s side head into the encounter after a convincing home victory against Tottenham and, after also defeating Liverpool and Arsenal this campaign, Robson says there is no reason why the Red Devils can’t go to Stamford Bridge and win:

“Yeah they can [beat Chelsea] They’ve proved after beating Arsenal and beating Liverpool and beating Tottenham, okay it’s all at Old Trafford, but I think that this team are capable of going anywhere and beating anybody. Chelsea are going to be really tough, but this is a learning curve for our club because before Newcastle we said Newcastle at home, Tottenham at home and Chelsea away, this is where we can gauge ourselves see how far we have come and how far we still have to get to.”

“It’s a work in progress and our club know that it’s so important to get back into the Champions League next year. If you can go on and win the title then that’s a massive bonus, but I don’t think we’re there at this moment in time. It’s a work in progress and if we can get in the Champions League and maybe have a good cup run then that’s going to be a good season.”

As Robson says, United have looked particularly impressive against some of the other ‘Big Six’ teams this season, although those victories have all come at Old Trafford. Their performances on the road have been less impressive.

The 6-3 defeat to Manchester City especially sticks in the mind and, while they are unlikely to be overpowered as easily by Chelsea, they might not have everything go their own way against the Blues.

If the players can apply themselves like they did versus Spurs, though, the chances of getting a good result on Saturday are pretty high.
