Manchester United are “very interested” in Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, according to Foot Mercato reporter Sebastien Denis.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Belgian international in recent days but Denis says that Barcelona and the Red Devils are the likeliest teams to make an approach for the player:

Fans on X are pretty enthusiastic about the prospect of signing Onana, especially if he is available for €55m (£47.6m) as Denis claims:

Onana has stepped up his game this season
The 22-year-old had a rather indifferent first 12 months after joining Everton from Lille for £33.5m last year. It has taken him quite a while to adapt to English football.
However, things have begun to click for Onana in recent months, and he is now a dominant figure alongside the likes of Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure in Everton’s midfield.
Will United prioritise a move for a midfielder in January?
Although it’s clear for all to see that the Red Devils have struggled in midfield this season, it is believed that the club will focus their efforts on recruiting a centre-back and potentially a striker next month.
While Onana is a player that United are monitoring closely, a bid for the Belgian may have to wait until next summer. There is, however, a danger that he will have been snapped up by another team by then.
