Belgian ace Lukaku eyeing long future at Manchester United

Romelu Lukaku has proved to be an instant hit at Manchester United this season following his lucrative transfer from Everton, scoring three goals in as many Premier League matches to help the Red Devils rise to top of the table.

The Belgian striker has linked up with his new side fantastically and looks to have provided a major impact to Jose Mourinho’s side, having been nominated for the Player of the Month award in August.

Now on international duty with Belgium, the striker was questioned on his future following a heavy victory over Gibraltar and was asked about a release-clause in his contract. He revealed there isn’t one and that he’s also eyeing a long career at the club.

I don’t have one, but I’m very happy. I hope I stay there for a very long time. I’m not going to leave. I’m happy over there. Manchester United is a big club”

Having won all three of their games so far, Manchester United are in a strong position as they eye Premier League glory this season and look to be the side to beat. However, more challenging tasks lie ahead and they’ll need to prove themselves against the top six.

The Red Devils travel to Stoke after the international break, a side who have already defeated Arsenal, before then tackling FC Basel in the Champions League. From there, Mourinho’s side face Everton, Burton Albion, Southampton, CSKA Moscow and Crystal Palace to end September.

October is where the big tests lie though as Manchester United travel to face Liverpool at Anfield, then hosting Tottenham Hotspur later in the month- a clash which comes between two European fixtures against Benfica, who’ll prove to be the most challenging opponent in the group stage for Mourinho’s men.
