Agent Responds To Claims That Russian Playmaker Could Make £34.3m United Move

The agent of Lokomotiv Moscow attacking midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk has distanced the Russian international from claims he could make a January switch to Manchester United.

Reports in Italy over the weekend had said that the Red Devils were favourites to beat the likes of Juventus, Lazio and AC Milan to the playmaker’s signature, but the player’s representative has been quoted as saying:

“I’m not going to comment on rumours and someone’s fantasies.”

United were reportedly lining up a €40m (£34.3m) offer for Miranchuk, who has been in excellent form for Lokomotiv Moscow this season.

The 24-year-old has scored nine goals and contributed four assists in 21 appearances, with his most notable contributions coming against Juventus in the Champions League, when he scored in both group games against the Italian champions.

United are said to be looking to sign an attacking midfielder in January, but a move for Miranchuk would be a surprise considering he has never played outside of Russia.
