A Worrying Development In United Star’s Contract Talks

Manchester United have not made any breakthrough in contract talks with David De Gea, according to the Mirror. It was reported last month that the Spaniard was all set to sign a new deal, but it appears negotiations have stalled once again.

The 28-year-old has ten months left on his contract at Old Trafford and he will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January. A £375,000-a-week offer is believed to be on the table but United are still not sure if the club’s number one will sign it.

The Red Devils are said to be still locked in discussions with De Gea and his representatives, and they are apparently still confident that a deal can be struck, but it seems an agreement is not as close as we were led to believe.

It hasn’t affected the goalkeeper’s performances on the pitch, though, and he made a number of good saves in the 4-0 win over Chelsea yesterday, having been handed the captain’s armband by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
