Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella is “top of the list” of left-back targets that Manchester United are pursuing, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The journalist has confirmed that the Red Devils are also interested in Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon and Barcelona’s Marcos Alonso but, speaking on his YouTube channel, he emphasised that Cucurella is the number one option.
Fans on X are not too happy as they feel the Spanish international will struggle if he makes the move to Old Trafford, having already failed to establish himself at Chelsea:
A very big mistake tbh…😔😔😔

There is still a chance that United will move on to other targets
It is believed that Chelsea are demanding a loan fee for Cucurella and they would want his £175,000 wages to be covered in full as well.
For that reason, it is still not a foregone conclusion that Erik ten Hag’s side will recruit the fullback before the transfer window closes on Friday.
A fourth left-back has also entered the mix
Reports on Monday morning have suggested that United have made enquiries about the availability of Brentford’s Rico Henry.
The 26-year-old has played the full 90 minutes in all three of the Bees’ matches so far this season so it would be a surprise if his club would sanction the defender’s transfer.
It means, at this stage, Cucurella remains the favourite to make the switch to the Red Devils.
