Athletic Bilbao, Roma and Atletico Madrid are all keen on signing Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera, according to reports in Spain.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from the beginning of January.
United signed Herrera from Bilbao for €36million in the summer of 2014, and it appears the Basque club would like to take the player back on a free transfer.
The midfielder has become an increasingly peripheral figure under manager Jose Mourinho. His start in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City yesterday was only his fourth of the season, with his other four appearances coming as a substitute.
Earlier this month, it was reported that United may consider selling Herrera in January for between £3m and £5m with his contract running down.
The likes of Roma and Atletico Madrid could look to offer a cut-price deal, but the player may have already set his sights on a return to Bilbao, with a switch in the summer looking the likeliest outcome.
