Milan Lining Up January Offer For Out Of Favour Manchester United Defender

AC Milan are interested in signing Manchester United defender Eric Bailly in the January transfer window, according to ESPN.

The Ivorian international has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and the player reportedly fears he has lost the trust of manager Jose Mourinho.

Bailly has not played for United since the 3-2 defeat to Newcastle United last month. He was substituted just 19 minutes into the game with the Magpies already 2-0 up.

It followed a poor performance against Brighton & Hove Albion earlier in the season which the 24-year-old came in for heavy criticism for.

Bailly’s departure from United is likely to be dependent on whether the club manages to bring in defensive reinforcements in January.

It is believed that Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld are the Manchester side’s top targets, but both would likely be difficult to get.

Bailly was signed from Villarreal for £30m in 2016 but has so far failed to live up to expectations.
