Manchester United won the ball twelve times in the final third of the pitch against Crystal Palace yesterday afternoon. That is the most of any game since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
Interim head coach Ralf Rangnick appears to have had an instant impact at Old Trafford, and supporters on Twitter are getting excited about what may be possible under the German’s management:
That’s insane lol. Since Fergie? Ffs

After one training session aswell

Rangnick revealed after the match that he has had just one 45-minute training session with the first team since his arrival at the club. Even so, he was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the players adapted to a new style of play, despite having spent barely any time with him.
The former Schalke and RB Leipzig head coach deployed a new 4-2-2-2 system in order to get the team pressing high, and the statistics show that it did the trick. Of course, a lot more work will need to be done on the training pitch before the next league match against Norwich on Saturday.
