United ‘Lead’ Battle To Sign Ligue One Teenage Prodigy Ahead Of 3 Other PL Clubs

Manchester United “lead” the race to snap up Metz midfielder Pape Sarr, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that the 18-year-old, who recently won his first senior cap for Senegal, is open to a move to a bigger club, and he is being tracked by the Red Devils, as well as a number of other high profile European teams.

While the Sun themselves don’t go into detail about the other clubs pursuing Sarr, reports in France have suggested that the likes of Chelsea, Everton and Leicester are also scouting the midfielder.

Sarr only moved from the Generation Foot academy in Senegal at the start of the season but his performances are already turning heads. He made his senior debut for Metz in a Ligue One clash against Stade Brestois back in November, and he has gone on to make 20 appearances in all competitions.

The teenager is a holding midfielder by trade but he does have the capability to play further forward.
