Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is no longer the club’s number one, according to reports in the local media.
Dean Henderson was selected ahead of the Spaniard for the 2-1 victory against Brighton last night and it appears the England international will now be given a long run in the side.
The decision has reportedly not gone down well with De Gea, and it is believed his relationship with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now deteriorated. Fans on Twitter are very much split on whether dropping the 30-year-old is a good idea:
Solskjaer has been well within his rights to give Henderson a chance. De Gea has been given every opportunity and hasn't really taken it. Nowhere near the form he showed a few years ago. He should have no complaints

This has nothing to do with favourites like everyone is commenting just like de gea took over no. 1 when he was young it's time for him to go and Henderson to move in we can't stay with de gea for ever it's time to move on. I love de gea and everything he has done thank you ❤️.

I hope this isn’t true cos it’s not gonna look good on both side. De Gea deserves some respect

Statistically, De Gea does have one of the worst save percentages in the league, with only Newcastle’s Karl Darlow, Crystal Palace’s Vicente Guaita and Southampton’s Alex McCarthy having worse numbers.
In that regard, De Gea has very little to complain about, but Henderson will know that his performances will come under the microscope in upcoming fixtures, and any mistake will be pounced upon by critics.
